Kate's Role at Conference Solutions

Kate is the President and Owner of Conference Solutions. She took over the business in 1999, building up clientele with her ability to develop and nurture long-standing partnerships that produce measurable results. Kate's skills at contract negotiations, detailed planning and organization lead to successful and well-managed conferences and meetings.

Why She Does It

Kate enjoys keeping her finger on the pulse of all that goes into making conferences, partnerships and Conference Solutions thrive. She takes pride in building strong foundations that clients and committees can build on in the future. Her philosophy is to provide excellent service and have fun. She surrounds herself with team members who are capable, dedicated and, like Kate, will always go the extra mile to ensure success.

Away from Work

Kate loves to travel throughout the world, meeting new people and exploring new places. At home, you can often find her cooking up culinary delights in the kitchen, playing the piano and having fun with family and friends. Kate gives thanks for the blessings in her life and believes in giving back through charitable donations and volunteering of her time.

Jubilee's Role at Conference Solutions

Jubilee serves as Account Manager, executing several large conferences and programs for a variety both of long-standing and newer clients. She works closely with the client to identify and understand both the organization’s and program’s goals, clearly communicate these goals and develop a strategy to achieve and evaluate them. Jubilee manages all the conference details including site selection, budget, contracts, logistics, keynote speakers, offsite events and much more to insure a successful outcome, in turn, allowing the client to focus their efforts on the elements that highlight the mission of the program.

Why She Does It

Jubilee is a successful association executive and event planner with extensive experience in leadership positions and management of large–and diverse–numbers of individuals. She is a strategic leader and communicator with ability to develop both collaborative and independent relationships and identify opportunities for improvement within organization's programs portfolio.  Jubilee thrives on the success a volunteer leader experiences when their collaborative hard work yields the projected results.

Away from Work

As native of the Pacific Northwest, Jubilee has a soft-spot for the high desert of Central Oregon, but enjoys discovering hidden gems throughout the region – and beyond! She lives in a 100-year old home in a charming neighborhood of Portland with her husband and kids. Capitalizing on her very limited skills in the kitchen, Jubilee makes the most of Portland’s reputable culinary scene, while also spending time with friends and large family.  She has a passion for photography – of which her family and friends are typically the subjects - and college football, especially her University of Oregon Ducks.

Brianna's Role at Conference Solutions

Brianna orchestrates event logistics with vendors and clients to ensure a seamless conference from start to finish. From program development and speaker management to food and beverage, she works directly with the client and Conference Solutions team ensure that the needs of conference attendees and organizers are met. Additionally, Brianna manages and oversees the development and use of all client databases, and publicity content management and design to ensure consistent communication among all channels

Why She Does It

Brianna loves putting all the pieces together and enjoys the satisfaction of seeing months of hard work pay off at a conference. She believes all the effort is worth it when a client comes up and tells her that the event wouldn't have been such a success without Conference Solutions and the work that she did.

Away from Work

During her free time, Brianna is always up to something. She constantly has a DIY home improvement project in the works, enjoys cooking and baking for her husband and daughters, and adventuring around Portland and the Oregon Coast. She is a die-hard college sports fan— especially the Washington State Cougars.

Amy’s Role at Conference Solutions

Amy serves as Conference Solutions' Project Coordinator. Guided by the Account Manager, Amy collaborates with vendors and clients to organize successful conferences. Amy serves as a primary contact for invited speakers and connects with scientific committees to develop a conference program.

Why She Does It

Amy has held a variety of positions in both the hotel industry and higher education.  Amy enjoys collaborating with others, especially when it means working together to accomplish a shared goal.  She understands the hard work and dedication required to plan and implement a successful conference, and she loves to see it all come together in the end.    

Away from Work

More often than not, you will find Amy at home with her husband, dog, and kitty.  She enjoys arts, crafts, reading, nature, museums, stand-up comedy, and exploring Portland.  Her ideal vacation is any place she's never been before.

Emily Knuerr

Emily's Role at Conference Solutions

Emily works with associations, coordinating their conferences. This includes managing sponsorships, advertisers and tradeshow elements. She helps with the planning process and organizes presenters as well as their needs.

Why She Does It

Emily is constantly seeking a challenge and performs her best when forced to rise to the occasion. Her ultimate goal is to see the positive impact her work creates and always find ways to connect with the people around her. Emily will always jump at the opportunity to learn and grow from colleagues, family and friends.

Away from Work

Having lived in the extreme climates of the Midwest and Southwest prior to her move to Portland, Emily is thoroughly enjoying all the outdoor activities available in Pacific Northwest - and even the rain! She enjoys spending her free time volunteering for environmental causes, while also remaining a loyal supporter of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

Tricia's Role at Conference Solutions

Tricia focuses on managing all of our client's registration and sponsorship data, as well as payments. She builds registration websites, leads our onsite registration teams, and provides detailed weekly reports to update clients on the status of their events. Additionally, Tricia is the main point of contact for conference attendees prior to events; answering their questions regarding conference registration, payments, agendas, travel logistics, continuing education credits, and any other areas where they need assistance.

Why She Does It

Tricia’s been in event management for the last decade, and enjoys the wide variety of projects, people and industries she gets to work with. Events may have similar components, but each one is a unique production ensuring there is never a dull day! She also thrives on regular travel and getting to work with people from around the globe.

Away from Work

Tricia is a passionate globetrotter who loves to take extended trips to really experience new cultures, such as teaching English in Indonesia or taking an 8000 mile road trip through southern Africa. Also an avid photographer, she documents her travels with her trusty camera, as well as numerous scenic landscapes closer to home in the Pacific Northwest.

Tammy's Role at Conference Solutions

As Finance Manager, Tammy handles all the accounting functions for Conference Solutions as well as the conference financial management needs of our clients' events. This involves managing booking of revenue and expenses related to all the facets of an event and showing the profitability of it.

Why She Does It

Tammy has an extensive background in accounting and bookkeeping. She believes everyone needs to know if they're making money or not! She loves the process of tracking all of the transactions to provide clients with that insight.

Away from Work

Tammy's free time is filled with family and cheering on the kids and her nieces at sporting events. Her happiest times are when the family is all together and her favorite vacation spot is the happiest place on earth — Disneyland. She longs to go on a Caribbean cruise some day where she can soak up the sun, relax and play with the family.

Why She Does It

What started as a college job 7 years ago has blossomed into a career in conference management. Kathryn was introduced to event management at the University of California, Davis, but since moving to Portland and joining Conference Solutions, her passion for working with clients from around the world and at different stages in their career has increased ten-fold. Her role as Registration Coordinator allows her significant interaction with all conference stakeholders, creating a strong connection between herself and the Conference Solutions client base.

Away from Work

When not baking, Kathryn spends her free time with friends and family, on home renovation projects with her husband, and going on walks in the beautiful neighborhoods that Portland offers. And when time allows, she escapes the city to explore hidden pockets of the state, especially in the Mount Hood and Oregon Coast areas.
